Civil Court Fees:

Pursuant to the government Code the court must charge for the various documents filed and issued. A fee schedule is available online on this web site and at the Clerk's Office.

If a party cannot afford to pay court fees, a fee waiver may be granted, upon request. Information on the fee waiver and application form may also be obtained at the Clerk's Office.

Filing Fees

After Hours Filing

Drop boxes are available for filings each day, Monday through Friday. In the Civil Office in Santa Barbara, the drop box is available until 5pm; in Lompoc, until 4pm; in Santa Maria, the drop box is available 24 hours per day.

Assuming they are acceptable for processing, documents placed in the drop box prior to the end of day (5pm in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, and 4pm in Lompoc) will be processed as of the court date they were deposited. Documents placed in the drop box after the end of day will be processed as of the next court date. If problems are encountered with the filing (improper fees, mandatory information missing, not timely, etc.) the Clerk's Office will make every effort to contact you before documents are returned to you.
